If you’ve entered the market for a pickup truck, you can now pair the comfort and reliability that Hyundai is known for with true towing and hauling power. The Hyundai Santa Cruz debuts for 2022, so let’s see what this new truck has to offer.

Ready for Work

Hyundai offers two engine options for the 2022 Santa Cruz. The standard issue for the base model is a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 181 lb-ft of torque. The upper trims run on a 281-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder option that generates 311 lb-ft of torque, and this powerhouse enhances the truck’s towing capabilities to tackle tougher jobs. With either engine you choose, gear shifting comes courtesy of an eight-speed automatic transmission, and trucks with the turbocharged engine feature a dual-clutch functionality. When the Hyundai Santa Cruz is fully set up for trailering duties, it can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

On the Inside

Hyundai ensures that every model in their lineup presents a comfortable interior, and the same goes for their new pickup truck. The Santa Cruz stands out in its class with a particularly comfortable and roomy cab. The truck comes standard as a four-door crew cab build, featuring two cushioned rows and ample legroom for you and your passengers. Upscale materials can be found throughout the interior, with modern looks to complement the truck’s high-quality comfort. You can also enhance the interior with available upgrades like leather-trimmed seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a ventilated front row.

Technology at Your Fingertips

The Santa Cruz comes standard with a responsive 8-inch touchscreen, and a 10.3-inch option is also available. Both screen options make it easy to access and control your favorite apps and features, and the debut model can be stocked with an impressive selection of tech tools. For 2022, you can equip the Santa Cruz with wireless smartphone connectivity, navigation, wireless device charging, and more. Safety and driver assistance tech options include lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning.
